Journal from Târgu-Mureș: Ștefan Mura

I contacted the project full of enthusiasm. Rehearsals begin with dedication and curiosity, the director coordinates us in precisely and carefully constructed stages, he breaks the barrier of politeness and make room for respect, decency and kindness that exists between friends that have the same goal – the performance. From the beginning, I felt the text surprising and tempting. Everything appears to me like parts of lives from people like us but from the other point of the today world map. Is it surprising that they live like us or that we have the experiences they had? The characters have similar ages to ours so we can easily empathize with them. The translator has done a good job, I’m sure of it, this is unquestionable.

Here we are at the point where we can have an idea about the future show: and I feel as if punched in the face when you get to an age where you have lived and experienced some sensations. No one has died of a fist, the exception strengthens the rule. It’s like some flowers that nobody waters anymore because they are too pessimistic. A dawdler looks at them and shouts: “You, pessimistic!” It’s like people struggling in vain to see their dreams come true. Children happy that today they can still draw on the walls because tomorrow the painter comes or maybe the bank.

It’s been two months since the opening and I think it had an impact on those who saw the play. Now I draw a comma and say: I am delighted that I had the opportunity to meet with this team, this text, to go on the road of this show, an unknown road that becomes familiar with my colleagues’ help, a road that I still travel and wander on with everybody’s help, but especially of the director.

Am luat contact cu proiectul „Ca un fum, ca o părere” plin de entuziasm. Repetiţiile au început cu dăruire şi curiozitate, regizorul ne coordonează prin etape precise şi atent construite, sparge bariera politeţilor şi face loc respectului, decenţei şi amabilităţii care există între prietenii ce urmăresc acelaşi ţel şi anume – spectacolul. Propunerea de text mi s-a părut de la început surprinzătoare şi tentantă. Totul îmi apare ca o parte din viaţa altor oameni ca noi, dar de pe alt punct al hărţii lumii de astăzi. Oare e surprinzător că şi ei trăiesc la fel ca noi sau că şi noi trăim cele trăite de ei? Personajele au vârste apropiate de ale noastre, astfel putem empatiza uşor cu ele. Traducătorul şi-a facut bine treaba, de asta sunt sigur, indiscutabil.

Iată-ne ajunşi în punctul din care putem avea o idee despre spectacol: parcă ar fi un pumn în faţă pe care îl primeşti atunci când ajungi la o vârstă, atunci când ai trăit şi ai experimentat unele senzaţii. Nimeni nu a murit din cauza unui pumn, excepţiile întăresc regula. Parcă ar fi câteva flori pe care nu le mai udă nimeni pentru că sunt prea pesimiste. Un leneş se uită la ele şi le strigă: „Pesimistelor!” Parcă ar fi doar nişte oameni care se chinuie în zadar să-şi realizeze visele. Copii fericiţi că astăzi pot desena pe pereţi pentru că mâine vine zugravul sau poate banca.

După două luni de la premiera spectacolului „Ca un fum, ca o părere” de Jan Friedrich, am impresia ca acesta a avut un impact asupra celor care l-au văzut. Iată că trag o virgulă şi spun: sunt încântat că am avut ocazia să întâlnesc această echipă, acest text, să parcurg drumul spre acest spectacol, drum cu necunoscute cu care m-am familiarizat, asta şi cu ajutorul cunoscutelor, drum pe care încă mai călătoresc şi scotocesc cu ajutorul tuturor şi mai ales al regizorului.
