On the occasion of the centenary of the Manifest of the Surrealism, released on 15 October 1924, Nathalie Fillion proposes to draw inspiration from the surrealists’ approach to delve into one’s creativity, free from our rational mind’s constraints. The participants will dig into their imagination, including that of metaphors and association of ideas, to gather non-realistic material which they will try and give a shape to.
To fuel their knowledge of how orality and the theatrical form can be summoned to the service of such a project, fragments of Nathalie’s text Bigger than Me (Plus Grand que Moi) will be read and discussed.
Patrik Lazic will bring in his approach to have the students work on their sensitivity and the different emotions that confront each other within an individual.
Experimenting with different forms of playwriting will be encouraged through several exercises, whose results will be read aloud by the students for them to get to know each other and confront their personal universe and intimate world to that of the others.
