Students in Serbia have been blocking their faculties for more than 2 months. Almost all statecolleges are closed, and young people gather in the streets every day to pay their respects to the 15people who died when the roof of the newly renovated Railway Station building in Novi Sadcollapsed on them. The students are joined by students from primary and high schools, as well asvarious other branches such as artists, agriculturists… The students are demanding responsibility, and their authentic rebellion motivated a wave of mass protests in Serbia, which many consider tobe the biggest student rebellion since 1968. Contrary to those prevailing stereotypical opinions about young people, they have shown a high degree of social, political and various other awareness and responsibility. What is their attitude towards this moment? How do they see and feel rebellion?
During the workshop Drama and Rebellion, directed by Biljana Srbljanović in collaboration with Austrian playwright Bernhard Studlar, young students of dramaturgy and theater directing will learn to write about their perspectives on rebellion, learn how to make an artistic and dramatic reflection on a hot topic that engages them so much.
