Time: 3 – 7 June 2024

The workshop draws inspiration from contemporary feminist, ecological, and post-colonial thought, recognizing writing as a vital practice of transformation and resistance capable of modifying reality. Through writing, we explore forms and ways to reconfigure our relationships with the Earth and all its inhabitants, human and non-human. The anthropocentric vision gives way to the multiplicity of perspectives and the creation of new, imaginative, and vital inter-species relationships. It’s time for new and ancient creatures, hybrids, chimeras, to come into the open.

Eco-feminist scientist Donna Haraway, in her book “Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene” (2016), discusses SF (Science Fiction, Fabula Speculativa, Fatto Scientifico, So Far…), an acronym with many meanings that puts imaginative writing in the foreground. By following the ideas of Haraway and other philosophers, biologists, and artists who have used narratives as a liberating and subversive tool, the group of authors will become a small community of story weavers related to each other through mutual exchanges of knowledge. Sciences and dreams need each other to evolve.

The workshop will be held in Italian, French and English.
