A complementary course to the Bachelor’s degree, its goal is to provide a knowledge of the professional world of theatre, through analyses of theatrical works and courses taught in part by artists.
The workshop – is open to 16 students from various backgrounds. The groupe includes students at the University of Lorraine, particularly in the Arts and Humanities field; dramatic arts students from the Regional Conservatory of Nancy; as well as teachers or professionals from the field of culture.
The workshop is conceived like a masterclass. The idea is to give the participants a glimpse into the possibilities of creative writing, and give them a few tools so they can start to envision how a text which might be designed for the stage.
Starting from the point of view of the dream, each participant will first gather their own material, a matter that is both intimate and unique, and universal at the same time.
Borrowing from the surrealistic approach, Nathalie Fillion and Ewa Mikula will help nourish their creative process by contributing images and fragments of text, in order to facilitate free associations to break down creative boundaries. Those images will also be a means of creating an artistic and cultural encounter, that goes beyond words: images and references give access to a tradition, an intellectual and artistic history, a collective imagination specific to a culture.
