Where was your play presentation done and when?
Berlin, Deutsches Theater, June 2014 and Barcelona, Grec Festival, July 2014
Can you please tell us how was your experience in the frame of the project?
I enjoyed very much the opportunity to know and get involved (although for a short time) in programs and festivals which have new playwriting as first interest.
Write a couple of sentences about the feedback you received from the audience.
Someone told me I reminded them of Dario Fo (!!?) – obviously the only Italian author they knew
Other people asked me if I am published and translated abroad, which I am not (except for the French theatrical Magazine published in German I am in thanks to Fabulamundi
What were your major benefits from this experience?
Getting to know other playwriters all around in Europe, places, stages, European fares for a commission (that was a cultural shock) Getting more used to communicate in English… and most of all nice international thrills.
During the presentation or other activities (workshops, conferences etc) you probably interacted with other auhors/directors/actors/managers. Did any personal project emerge out of this interaction?
Unfortunately not. I wish the director who put on stage my text in Barcelona had gone forward with his great Job…
Were there any follow-ups to your presentation?
My participation to the Fabulamundi e-book Italian publishing (hope it is still on)
Please make some suggestions for the improvement of such events in the future.
I appreciated very much what I had been offered, nevertheless it would be even better in the future if the project itself could follow the author through longer work sessions abroad along with professionals from foreigner theatres. If you have the time and the calm to work with people in their environment, you learn more and there’s more chances to create follow-ups opportunity.
