1 . Where was your play presentation done and when? Can you please tell us how was your experience in the frame of the project?
– May 31, 2014, RESIDENZ THEATER (MUNCHEN)
– June 7, 2014, DEUTSCHES THEATER (BERLIN)
– September 13, 2014, SHORT THEATRE (ROMA)
2. Write a couple of sentences about the feedback you received from the audience.
In each case, the stage reading gave the audience the desire to know more about the text, the audience was very curious about it and hoped it would be staged soon. Which is the main aim of such events : to create a first meeting between the audience and a text and to give the desire to some people to put it on stage.
3. What were your major benefits from this experience?
Meet other actors and directors from other countries and talk with them about how they worked on my text and about their feedbacks.
Have the opportunity to meet other playwrights from other countries and to discover their plays.
4. During the presentation or other activities (workshops, conferences etc) you probably interacted with other authors/directors/actors/managers. Did any personal project emerge out of this interaction?
Not for the moment.
5. Were there any follow-ups to your presentation?
Not for the moment.
6. Please make some suggestions for the improvement of such events in the future.
– Maybe the stage readings should have some rules : not to be too long or too short, if the rehearsals are too short : make just a reading and not a “mise en espace”, not organize several stage readings in a row which is too long for audience…
– It could be interesting for the author to be present for a longer time, to attend to the rehearsals and to work with the actors and also with the translator… that could be an interesting way to achieve and improve the translation and to have more feedbacks from the director and the actors about the play.
