On the 18th and 19th October at the Werk X Theatre in Vienna will be presented 4 staged readings of contemporary plays, featuring Böhmisches Paradies by Jaroslav Rudiš and Heiliger Krieg by Fabrizio Sinisi.
For one weekend contemporary, international drama will be presented in the entire area of Werk X. The WIENER WORTSTAETTEN show a representative selection of their work. Pieces from the own drama lab meet texts that are part of the project Fabulamundi. Playwriting Europe. 4 scenic readings arranged by 4 directors in 4 special locations.
About the plays:
Anyone who has always wanted to know what happens in a classic men’s sauna is recommended “Bohemian Paradise” by the Czech author Jaroslav Rudis. In one of the perhaps last bastions of the white, middle-European man is sweated, grumbled, argued and drunk until the banks are cracking.
Somewhat subtler, but no less radical, is the “Holy War” by Fabrizio Sinisi. The young Italian playwright tells of the reunion of a priest and a young woman. Having just returned home from Syria, Laura confronts her former teacher with her views on faith, love and religion and puts him to the test on the night before Easter.
